Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University. Upon graduation he worked for the Architecture firm HOK in St. Louis, then for several New York City Lighting Consulting Firms. He was Partner for 19 years in a firm that bore his name. In June 2006 he formed Schwinghammer Lighting LLC.
Mr. Schwinghammer has been a visiting adjunct professor at Columbia University School of Architecture and has taught lighting design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Illuminating Engineering Society of North America(IES), the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Designers Lighting Forum (DLF) all in New York. He has lectured internationally and has guest lectured for the IES, IALD, DLF, and Lightfair International. He is frequently featured and published in national magazines and newspapers.
